About the project
This site contains a number of cases which are moving towards litigation or which have already undergone litigation.
A vast variety of tools are used in the endeavors to hold government agencies and private civilians accountable for violations and crimes they have perpetraterd against others. The focus of these investigations culminating in judicial intervention is the establishment of modifications, amendments and creation of parts of a system in this country and specifically in the state of New York which clearly do not work.
It takes an individual who has keen insight and an open mind who will notice the elements of this crisis that need to be addressed and the persistence and courage to press on to find the solutions that must be adopted in order for every person is treated justly in a system which will never be perfected. At this point, government agencies and staff appear to have constructed their own system which revolves stictly around their own special interests and selfish needs, with little or no concern for the public they are mandated to serve.
Many of us have been cast out or kept out of the services and opportunities that we created to exist for everyone; not just a select group of self-congratulatory people who have no intention of understanding the needs of the masses. The Ivory Tower, a very old fashioned concept, is still alive and happy, especially in New York State. The tower exists of, at most, 10% of the populace of this state who, as Professor Hutter of Albany Law School describes it, "absolute spectacles of lawlessness". These are people, many of which attorneys, judges and politicians who have adopted a demeanor that they are above the law and in essence, have become mini-tyrants in a system with a superficial veil mention of democracy and liberty for all.
It doesn't help to go "up the ladder" so to speak or as federal judicial protocol expects, to exhaust all enforcement options to resolve a conflict before opting to file the same conflict for resolution in federal courts. It's just simply a waste of time. No politician in the state of New York is listening. No state agency will take complaints seriously - especially from a state residents who may be down-trodden. It seems our society is all about jumping on the band-wagon and being carried with the current in shaming individuals selected by specific government players. You can go to the Inspector General, the Attorney General, law enforcement, ethics commissions, special interest groups or individual attorneys and law firms. You will not get help unless you already have the status and finances to be seen as "worthy" of assistance. This practice simply defeats the purpose of the system created by our forefathers to rid future generations of the hellish practices to which many of them and their families were subject prior to the Revolution. However, in the modern day, the notion of regulation always theoretically sustained by the concept of the welfare of the public, has resulted in meaningless, excessive, sometimes clostrophobic control wreaking of authoritarian intentions and unwritten rules.
Some call it the "sign of the times" and others call it "going to hell in a handbasket" among other various terms of description. Whatever the coined phrase used to describe the incredibly unjust and one-sided skeleton of a system once erected and maintained by our predecessors, one thing is clear. It's time for the residents of this state to fight for themselves.
The cases included on the pages of this site are very unique in that they deal with a niche industry controlled by niche regulations created by a niche foundation in legal theory and concept. Very few people claim the privilege to work with the state's wild animals in rehabilitating and conserving such species for future generations and simply because it is the proper thing to do in a moral sense. As a result of the obscurity but also the vitality of the conservation of our state's and nation's living natural resources, any gains and losses in the field in terms of education, influence on animal species demographics as a whole and engaging and inspiring the public are of crucial importance. In sustaining the soundness of the means and ends of a rare career, be it voluntary or professional, it shouldn't be surprising to any of us that it is in this area of study and expertise where the next sounding board is being built in regards to our rights and liberties. In fact, it just may lead to the next Renaissance which will usher in a stronger, more just and inclusive political, legal and social system - one which has been sorely needed for decades by the 90% of those kept out of the Ivory Tower.
